Looking to Retirement?

Retirement income is a combination of sources:

  1. Canada Post Pension Plan: a general rule of thumb is 2% per year of pensionable service (pro-rated for part time service) for the best five years – coordinated with Canada Pension Plan.
  2. Canada Pension Plan: coordinated with the CPC Pension Plan so that at age 65 your CPC pension is reduced accordingly.
  3. Old Age Security: Benefit for most Canadians who are 65 or older – a minimum of 10 years residence in Canada after age of 18.
  4. Guaranteed Income Supplement A tax free benefit for minimum income earners usually who have little more than the OAS.
  5. Allowance: If a person is a low income spouse of a GIS recipient or a widowed partner and are between the ages of 60 -64.
  6. RRSP's and Savings: If you have been fortunate enough to be able to save towards this.
  7. 649 ticket?
